    Unown had suddenly become a popular commodity in the previous couple of weeks, though the reasoning was entirely unknown to Jack. “Hey, uh…” An attempt was made to stop one of the passing trainers and ask, though they completely blew past without hesitation. “Okay, then.” He shrugged softly, seemingly unphased by the interaction.

    These Pokémon weren’t the reason he’d come to the Jagged Pass, instead he’d been looking for some new companions to help fill out his roster with the intention of challenging the League here in Hoenn. The only battling Pokémon he’d brought from Sinnoh had been his Dusknoir, because he’d been emotionally attached the most to them.

    Meeting new trainers was another bonus, but all of them seemed to be far more preoccupied surveying the land for the alphabet thus far.

Melody had also heard about the recent influx of demand for Unown in Hoenn. She wanted to help out however she could meeting the people's needs so she herself decided to try and hunt Unown and hand them out to interested trainers! She however was a very talkative person and with no one else to really talk to she tried to talk to her hatterene. [break][break]

needless to say it didn't work out very well since the Pokémon just stared at her silently. She let out a small sigh before finally finding another person! It seemed like he was trying to talk to people too but people were just ignoring him! How rude! She waltzed right up to him "Hey! Looking for a partner to explore around?" she asked him curiously as she put her hands on her hips.

“Oh, hey.” A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips as the friendly face came into view, glad to not be ignored for once. “Yeah, that’d be nice. I don’t know my way around Hoenn too well, yet. Just moved here a few weeks ago.” Behind Melody, a Dusknoir materialized from the earth, slipping into the air and positioning themselves over her. “You can chill, Nocturne. She’s not a crazy fan.”

“Noir.” The Pokémon responded with the deep groan of their voice, floating away from their oppressive stance over the woman. “Sorry about that, he’s kind of like my personal bodyguard.” In the distance he’d catch the sounds of a scuffle, the Dusknoir reared back their fist and slammed a Thunder Punch into the form of a Hitmonlee. “Oh, that’s convenient.” Jack produced a Pokeball from his belongings and tossed the capsule towards their unconscious form, looking to capture the Pokémon. “So, we traveling together then?”

Melody tilted her head at the dusknoir, she hadn't had the chance to see one up close before. "Oooo scary!" she said "Well welcome to Hoenn! You picked a pretty cool place to come and explore" she explains "Jagged pass is home to a lot of fighting types who train punching boulders and stuff! Psychic pokemon also come to train here, I don't know why though. Maybe the soot falling keeps them calm? Maybe the hotsprings are tranquil?" she questions as she raises both her hands in a shrug [break][break]

"Ohhhh? How come you need a bodyguard?" she questioned as a mienshao suddenly leapt up and tried to strike at Melody, yet a series of Psycho cuts sliced at the pokemon sending it flying. She turned around as she looked at her hatterene and waved at the creature "Nice job candy!" she called out as she lobbed a pokeball at the mienshao. [break][break]

"Oh! This way has a really cool spot you can come check out!" she said pointing to off the beaten path, there was a cool hotspring there that a lot of pokemon liked to hang around.
